Marijuana effects?

What does marijuana do to you exactly?

As in, when you smoke marijuana, what happens to you afterwards exactly and why? How does it work? I would love a play by play informed answer. I'm talking psychological and physiological. But not just what happens, also why.
I'm curious as to what it does to the body exactly?

I smoked it once and my heart was pounding for an hour an a half while I was high. Either I was paranoid (so it was psychological) or it was just physiological from the marijuana, what do you think?

So pretty much I want to know all the different things marijuana does to someone, the facts. and how it works and why, I know I must sound like a broken record but I just want to make sure people know what I mean .

That was such a great answer and you are right, but it usually causes panic attacks to those who just started smoking, which was the exact case for me, after smoking about 6 more times it became way more pleasurable than not, and I think in amazing ways, and write down each and every thought...

What are all the HEALTH effects from smoking and digesting marijuanna though?

I forgot to add Marijuana distorts your perception of time as well. Vision may become choppy (think laggy video game). May increase blood pressure. Hope that answers your question.

Marijuana can cause panic attacks in some people. Mainly in people who have been smoking for a long time, however, I suffered panic attacks after only 4 months of smoking. Marijuana stimulates the pleasure cells in your brain. If you wan't a scientific answer do a web search. Personally, marijuana affects on me were : increased taste, increased hunger, increased sense of hearing, increased sexual pleasure, increased interest in simple or mundane activities, increased paranoia, and sedation. Marijuana can stay in your system for weeks or months depending on how often you smoke. Red/swollen eyes is a common symptom of smoking marijuana, along with paranoia. Some people hallucinate/become delusional depending on dosage.  Marijuana effects everyone differently. Some become completely retarded. Some act like 5 year olds. Some feel it increases their vitality. some feel it makes them smarter, some feel it relaxes them and eases their anxiety.  With that being said, from personal experience, I would stay far away from it. Especially if your having panic attacks already. Don't forget it is a fact Marijuana increases your chance of psychosis. And trust me, that is one experience you do not want to go through. Mental addiction is also a possibility.
