Take a stool softener every night without fail.  Drink plenty of water (more than 8 glasses a day).  Take fish oil capsules, and take at least one teaspoon of coconut or olive oil every day.  Switch to whole wheat or whole grain bread and eat lots of green salads and vegetables.  Eat less meat (tends to constipate).  If these measures don't help within a two week period, see a doctor for help.  Prunes, plums, peaches and pears help you poop.  All start with a "P" so it should be easy to remember.

I take Ducosate Sodium 100 mg.   A laxative contains ingredients that irritate the colon.  A stool softener does not.
