fever

I have been running a low grade fever off and on for almost 5 years.  But now for the last 4 months it has been daily and running up to 102.  I have been doctoring and many blood tests. There are no signs of infections. No signs of any common illnesses.  I am really run down.  The more I move the worst it gets. I have other health problems like fibromyglia, joint pain and degenerative disease in back and si joint problems. Help!

Thank you for your comment.  I have been tested for lymes disease and lupus several times.  Lupus is something that my husband and myself thought I had also.  Even 2nd to last Dr thought I had that.   I have a redish nose and little on my checks which is a sign of lupus also.  I suffer with running to bathroom almost everytime I eat something. I do get the chills almost daily especially in the evening. I have an area under right rib cage that feels like a lump which also appearred at the same time the fever did. nothing shows up on scans though.

Thanks for the well wishes

I believe that your fever is due to the fact that your joints are inflamed.  I don't believe its life threatening Though so I would suggest you ingest more Vitamin D and get with your doctors and see if there s something they can prescribe for the fever Bayer should keep the fever in check in the meantime.  I pray that you feel better God Bless you I hope that helps

Have you been tested for Lyme's or Lupus (or other auto immune diseases)?  Low grade fevers are quite common with lupus sufferers, however, 102 is a bit high for a lupus fever - BUT not everyone is the same and everyone's symptoms can differ, so 102 may not be totally out of the question for lupus.

What were the results of your blood tests, other than no signs of infection?  Were there any levels that were notated as being higher or lower than normal?  if so, which one/s were they?

Any other symptoms other than the fever such as sore throats, chills, vomiting, nausea, rashes, headaches, etc.,?

I would definitely suggest getting tested for lupus and other auto immune diseases, as well as Lyme's.  One hint - before you go for your test for lupus, spend some time out in the sun both the day before and immediately before your test.  For people with lupus, spending time in the sun can raise the levels in your blood so they are more readily found int he blood test.  It IS possible to have lupus and get a negative blood test, but spending time in the sun before the test can make this less likely.  And even if your first test comes out negative and you continue with the symptoms, ask for a retest - sometimes it takes a few times before it will show up (in my case, I had three tests before it showed)

I hope you feel better soon!
