pins and needles at 21

In 2009 I was in a head on collision (not at fault) it broke my T12. About a week ago I had an MRI done and it said that my spine had healed correctly it just showed an old trauma. Here lately I've been waking up in the middle of my sleep with pins and needles in my hands. If its not pins and needles they fall asleep. The doctor said everything.g was fine with my back. I don't not have any nerved in my left arm due to 9 surgeries and a skin graph. It removed my tendons muscles and destroyed my nerves. However I get these pins and needles in both hands. I don't know whats going on and its very painful.

Does anyone know or can suggest what is going on?

Hi and really sorry about your car accident. It sounds like a pinched nerve maybe in the spine. They can't see nerves on an MRI but they can see degenerative disk and facet joint degeneration. But, since your MRI is ok they may not be able to see what is going on. I wonder if it carpal tunnel and nothing to do with your other problem? You can get a nerve conductivity test but i'm not sure how accurate it will be in your case. I would see a neurologist if you can and also if you just want pain treatment maybe Lyrica, Neurontin or any of the nerve pain relievers might help your symptoms. Have you been using your wrists a lot lately doing repetitive work? Did this pain happen after your surgeries?

I don't use my no more than usual. I was suppose to be on lyrica for the rest of my life but its to expensive aorta I winged myself off 2 months after my last surgery. It just started this year. But my legs and feet occasionally go to sleep just standing. And as far as a neurologist I'm kinda at the bottom of the barrel and in broke with no insurance I have a invisable line going from my left elbow to my thumb and index finger where I can feel but the nerves are severely damaged it hurts to even brush my fingers across it. My back is bulging where my spine was damaged and hurts to straighten it. I don't know whats going on but if I put pressure on my arm it tingles like I'm being poked with tons of needles. And it hurts :(

if you were in an accident, I certainly hope you haven't signed any final documents clearing the other folks of any more damages.  Take yourself to a personal injury lawyer....they only charge if they win and it's a 33 1/3 for them and 66 2/3 for you.  You sound like you have permanent damage and need an attorney to help you.  Obviously, the doctor's aren't.  Surgeons want to fix you and send you off -- they don't want you continually returning.  Check the phone book and look for a reputable spine specialist group...check their web site and their bios...and NEVER let a doctor touch you until he has had three of his patient's call you and tell you their opinion of their experience with him/her.  If a doctor objects and does not cooperate, you don't want to use him.  Keep looking.  Same with an attorney, you must feel 100% comfortable with him/her before you sign up to have them help you.  Read the small print of everything you sign.

My accident was in 2009 and yes I got completely screwed in all directions. I didn't know anything about a lawsuit I was only 19 and didn't have much guidance. My doctors were great that I know of. My lawyers were horrible. They didn't care at all. And got more money than I did. And they said I had to pay my insurance back. Idk... I got screwed. And I regret it. A lot of money went down the drain and I could really use it right now. All I can so.now is pray.
