take a pregnancy test it can determine pregnancy 5-6days prior to missed period but also take into consideration the last time u had sex it take about 2 weeks for you to actually become pregnant. so if its past  2 weeks of last sex day take a test. then go to the doctor, u dont wanna worry your head over a late period. its not uncommon for periods to change course and instead of coming in the beginning of the month it may come mid-month

thank you. im a bit ignorant on this subject, so the conception date is the exact date of intercourse, or is that wrong? i have a dr appt tomorrow, which will be seven days since the first time of intercourse, so if its negative, should i get another one done in another week approx. bc it wouldnt have been any longer than a week. not on any hormones, im new to all of this.

The drug store urine pregnancy tests are highly accurate these days, assuming you haven't been taking hormones as part of fertility treatments and assuming you use it correctly. Different test kits have somewhat differing claims as to how early you can test for accuracy.  A blood test should be correctly positive within 7-12 days of conception.  It is best to ask the lab doing the test what the earliest recommended date is for testing.
