HIV Anxiety, what could it be?

Without a doubt it's anxiety! During my window period, i was the same; every little couch, sneeze, muscle strain was HIV. Everytime i felt tired was because of HIV infection. Being scared takes away the ability to think logically and rationally. Trust me.

I tested negative @ 29 days (DUO test) and again @ 12.5 weeks, 87 days. Again negative. Now I can see that i was trapped in a vicous circle of my own making; the more symptooms i "saw" the worse i felt, so more syptoms would "appear" and the worse i felt. The fact is being anxious and scared and in my case bloddy unfit can make you see illness where there is none.

Even now, some months after, i still feel, that i could be a "late converter", but @ least i can counter that thought with the fact that I've tested negative twice wihtin the 3 month window period. I have councelling now to help me. And would reccomend it to anyone who is struggling to deal with issues surrounding possible infection.

Dr HHH you r great...i've been reading all the feed backs....but i've completely different issue...i went to a strip club I had lap dance and I sucked her nipple for 3sec a couple times and I bit her vagina for 10-15 mins(i was having three glass of alcohol drinks) and then after three days...i saw a very little blood on my gum...i freaked out...that was the time I start worrying about hiv...then after 5 days from possibe exposer (the strip club)..I came up with flu-like illness(which appeared after I read about the early symptoms of hiv) then..after 1 week I had stiff neck, small hairy white tongue, and sore throat...then I was continously checking if I have a swollen lymph nodes by touching and rubbing my neck....there was not at the begining but after touching and rubbimg my neck I come up 2 or 3 swollen lymph nodes on the left side of my neck....then I convinced my self that I'm infected by hiv....after that...i was in a very high stress that u cant imagine....after that I developed 5 red spots on my arms very close to my fingers.. My work involves lifting and moving carts....which heavy..this days I develop pain in my groin area...am not sure weather its a swollen lymph nodes or not...now its been like the 5th week from the possible exposer...i cheated my wife...i deserve to feel all these pains....please tell me weather I  infe ted or not

Doctor, I was wondering if taking ciprofloxacin can alter test results for any of the following STDs: genital herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis b and c, or syphilis.  I was tested for these while taking ciprofloxacin and was just curious. Thanks again.

Are you convinced you have meningitis or a brain tumor whenever you get a headache?  That a stomach upset or an episode of diarrhea is due to cancer?  Same deal with the symptoms people associate with HIV:  even with classical ARS symptoms, few people have HIV--and almost nobody at low risk has HIV.  The body can only react a certain number of ways to various medical conditions.  Your symptoms are truly, absolutely meaningless as an indicator of HIV.  They did not suggest HIV before you were tested and your test results prove they simply cannot be due to HIV, period.

Don't take it personally, freddy.  This message isn't only to you, just an opportunity to say (again!) to everyone in the same situation:  Get over it!

all negative, all with DUO 4th Gen.

I still can't quite grasp I'm negative because of symptoms.

Minor variations in semen color are normal.  Any minor trauma to the perineum (the space between anus and scrotum) can cause minor bleeding into the prostate, with yellowish or brownish results--for example if you ride bikes, motorcycles, or horses.  But if you have consistent pus-yellow or brown/bloody semen, see a health care provider to check out a possible infection.  (But STDs don't do this, and HIV certain does not.)

With your 12.5 week test, NOTHING you have has anything to do with HIV. Period.  Go back to your doc and figure out whats going on but forget about HIV, that's not it.

It is simply impossible that you have HIV.  The direct answers to your questions are:  1)  Yes, absolutely.  2) No.  3) As you suggest yourself, anxiety and stress are by far the most likely explanaion.  4) No.  5) No.

Seek counseling, please.  I suggest it out of compassion, not criticism.  Do not post any "yes, but" or "what if" questions here.  There is nothing you could add that could change my opinion or advice.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
