Please there is hope just get tested already

Okay if you want go over my old posts since 2009 to recent. There is hope. Finally got up the courage to follow up my first test in 2009. I waited about 40 days after encounter to test and was so scared came on this website driving the moderators nuts, I'm sure but today tested negative once and for all. I had unprotected oral sex in 2009 with a sore in my mouth. I know they say it is theoretical risk and it is. However that did not stop my anxiety. 12 days after the encounter I had night sweats for 12 days, numb teeth and gums, all types of body zaps, jolts, white tongue, sore in vaginal area and burning off and on. Later on this year I started having more symptoms, stiff neck and back, sore throat off and on, gastro upset, chronic hives, itchy anus random genital tearing and burning sensations also low wbc, rbc and abs lymp on cbc with differential. Once and for all for peace of mind, I told my fiance what I was feeling and he said just get tested to be sure and lay it to rest once and for all. I had to for myself and because he tested in the beginning of our relationship to ensure he was okay which he tested negative. I am telling you I can find no other explanation for my symptoms neither can my doctor as of yet, could be stress, could be chronic fatigue, could be ANYTHING but it is not HIV and it was proved to me today. If you make up in your mind you have it you will really believe. NOW I say low risk, high risk or pretty much no risk get tested twice 1 time at around 4 weeks then again at 3 months. The 4 week mark is GREAT indicator and helps to ease some anxiety when you go back for 3 month mark. I say that because most of you are like me and no matter what refuse to believe that you did not contract HIV. More people don't have it then do. Now don't be reckless. I personally say don't even bother with casual sex. In a loving and committed and trusting relationship you can talk about this with your partner. If they care about you they will get tested and so should you to be sure and then move on with your life. Of course don't play the numbers and percentage games and don't gamble on the odds just get tested and get you negative result and stop having casual sex so you NEVER have to be back in the same position. GOD BLESS and no God does not want to punish you, I pray you are all in good health and continue on the right path. John 3:16 Stop living like this get tested even if there is that small chance you come back positive you can know and learn how to deal and move on. Thank God it is a pretty hard virus to catch and pretty much most of you if not all on here will be okay.

I am glad you got finally tested although I am surprise you waited so long time (!)

I am at the same boat as you, only that in my case it was insertive oral sex (a girl performed a fellatio on me). Please notice this is the "theoretical risk". Receptive oral sex (your case) is known to be a risk (although a very low one - see link below). I am glad you got tested.

I fully agree with your advice. Either fidelity or using condoms (also for oral). Anything else will only cause us extreme anxiety and in worse case, an IST. I've got lots of white hair since my incident and I am only in my mid 30's :(

I will go for my final test +4 months post exposure this Wednesday. Wish me luck. I already have a 5 and  9 weeks Negative so everything should be OK.
