12 weeks or 3 months?

by verystressed07, Aug 12, 2007 12:36AM
I've read so many posts here that state 12 weeks is conclusive and others 3 months. 12 weeks is not exactly 3 months. I'm insisting on my husband getting tested at 3 months but he wants to get tested at 12 weeks since that'll cut one week off the waiting period. I'm making him test at 3 months so we can be 100% sure but do 1 week less really make a difference? Thanks

12 weeks, 3 months...pick one.  From everything I have read, the result will be the same regardless.

Good luck.

In the united states, 13 weeks or 90 days is conclusive.  In other parts of the world, 84 days or 12 weeks is okay.

I've read posts here and in thebody.com that even 80 days will be okay.  What's 1 or 2 days.  I once had a test 80 days post exposure and the good aidsmeds people said that's close enough.

thanks, my husband insisted on getting tested at 6 weeks also but i told him i knew a test at that time wasn't conclusive. I guess I'll let him test at 6 weeks. I just don't trust condoms

Condoms are better than nothing at all.
