Yes, a 4th Gen would be considered conclusive at 9 week's.
Stay safe.
So I should move on? And can I have sex with my partner? Thanks.
Thank you I needed that as I have in a bad stage. I can't shake off the feeling the feeling that I caught HIV no matter how many test I have taken. Psychologically in drained.
Trust me, I've been there. Trust your results and learn from your mistakes.
Guys, my anxiety is killing me and took another test at 72 days. I can't take it anymore I know is guilt for what I did. Can someone help me understand and how good is this other test. I have lost 10 pounds.
The only way to deal with your guilt, is to accept what happened and who post heremove on or see a professional councillor.
There is no way you have HIV, considering the number of tests you have taken and a 4th Gen test past 8 week's.
You are suffering from guilt and anxiety which so many people have, who post here. You are are not unusual.
Sorry, typing error. Meant; accept what has happened, happened and move on.
All the best.
Guys thank you all for trying to help get through the worst time of my life. I know I sound crazy because of all these test, and trust me they have been lots of them, 10 to be exact, in the last 10 weeks. But I had symptoms so did my wife. So is going to take a while for me to get over this , maybe the 12 week test will help as I'm 10 days away.
My last antibody only test was at 74 days which is 12 days away from 84.
I had the 4th ab/ag at 9 weeks.
Your negative. You aren't going to turn the scientific community on it's head.
Good luck.
Thank you it means a lot. I just think of what if....what if she put a hole in the condom, what if she was infected with his 2.... How prevalent is hiv 2 in ny and would the 4th picked it up at 9 weeks? Thnks
Also since that day I keep getting mouth ulcers....is mouth ulcers a sign of hiv?
Anyone? Should I be worried about hiv and mouth ulcers. I'm having panic attacks
Oral ulcers are not a sign of HIV. Oral ulcers have no definite reason till date. How ever, their occurrence is observed during damage to oral mucosa while brushing, vitamin deficiency, poor digestion etc. Their presence certainly doesn't depict presence of HIV virus in a human body. Some of the HIV positive people have ulceration due to heavy dosage of medications or weakened immune system if they are not treated well with ARS but this cannot be termed as signs of HIV infection.
The cause of oral ulcers have been unknown for years now. How ever, they are fairly observed when a person lacks vitamins, damage to the oral mucous area due to heavy brushing, poor digestion etc. A small amount of HIV positive population develop oral ulcers BUT they are due to heavy medications or weakened immune system due to stress. Hence, presence of oral ulcers cannot certainly be considered as symptoms of early HIV infection/ new HIV infection. I hope that solves your answer.
Thanks that helps because every it says ulcers are signs of hiv. I'm driving my self crazy. I don't wish upon anyone very hard times for me. I have lost 15lbs.
Will my 12 weeks antibody test be conclusive even for his 2?
Worry will only harm. Losing weight due to stress can weaken your immune system. You are safe.
The worrying doesn't stop and I know is wrong but I just keep coming up with stupid things like hiv 2. I feel so sorry for everyone going through this....this is terrible and I don't know how to stop and get my life back. I want to be the same person but don't know if it will be possible.
Seek a therapist, it may help.
One final question for Vance I can have some peace. Does hiv 2 antibody production have the same window period as hiv 1? Please answer so my headache can get better.
You should only retest (and they recommend at 8 weeks), if you have had a particularly high risk and is accompanied by symptoms.
I understand your concern, but in all truth and concerning the latest expert advice and coming from the world's best organizations concerning HIV, you are safe and negative; if as you said, you took a 4th Gen test at 9 week's.
Hope this helped.
Stay safe.
