6wks post PEP

Hi experts,

please I'm scared to death after haven had a suture needlestick about 10wks ago while assisting at surgery. I commenced PEP 50min and completed a month course.

A Rapid antibody test at 6wks post PEP (10wks post exposure) came out negative.

Please what are  my chances when I test at 12wks post-PEP?

Please how often do you see or have seen someone test positve after 6wk-post PEP negative?

Thank you so much in anticipation.

You didn't have a risk to begin with with a suerpficial exposure to a suture needle.  You followed the guidelines for your employer's exposure policy and that's what you should have done...however try not to worry...your test will be negative.
