I have had muscle, joint and head aches on a daily basis for that long. If they were related to HIV, could it be possible to have for that long?

Teak is right. Given the timings and symptoms either EBV or CMV mononucleosis would be much more likely, their incubation period is longer than HIV. Taking a monospot test might be a good idea.
