Dear Doc,
I am sure you will be able to calm me more than my GP could. I stay in Dubai and few weeks back i realised that my roomates must have used my Shaving razor....i am unaware of their HIV status. Also i had a fall when i went to ski and had a cut on my chin and eye.i received first aid and then next day i took a Injection for Tetnes from a good Clinic and i am sure the needle was not reused(I hope). After 4 weeks i had developed fatigue, and very mild fever for 2 days, then i went to jordan for 2 days and when i came back i developed sore throat with mild fatigue, i paniced so much that i went to my home country and had a HIV test done which was "nonreactive", my GP gave me some medicine for the sore throat but the mild sore throat didnt go....i came back to dubai but was not convinced as i thought i still might be in the window period........their were no other symptoms but the mild throat still did not go....i went to a GP in dubai and he gave some Antiboitic's as its could be a sore throat due to bacteria not virus. after i took the medicine i felt better but the anxiety is still their in me.
today its gona be 6 weeks but i still have a very mild doscomfort in the throat......lot of people in my office have the same complaints about have sore throat which doesnt go away easily and even in the clinic i went.
I am very worried about this as i have never been sexually involved or had drugs ever in my life. When i asked my GP that are these symtoms of ARS he said NO.....but when i told him about my fear he said that i might have had SEX and thats why i am so worried...which is untrue.
For the sore throat he said i need to do gargle and it will go away by its own.
Do i need to be worried about the possibilty of getting infected and get retested in 3 months.
I have a lot of fear about this and since last 1 month i was not able to work and just kept searching on the Net and found this website to be the BEST.....please advice me.....as now i even get dreams of getting infected by HIV.
Please reply Doctor and give your suggestion.
Best Regards,
Worried Man.
