Hello and thank you for this page. Two days ago I had a cold sore on the mouth (simple heroes) it is not uncommon for me to have one or two outbreaks during the year. It also appears with a mild throat sore. However I recalled that 4 weeks ago I had a high risk sexual activity with a guy (anal sex I was insertive). We first used condom, things arouse and he told me he was negative so I took off the condom and ejaculated inside him (I know, stupid decision) Now I am worried if this throat sore could be an hiv accute symptom or a cold sore symptom. it's my second day with the throat sore and the cold sore is healing now. I am monitoring my temperature and the highest has been 99.4 degrees. of course I will get tested but need to wait more time to get a conclusive result. I have not experience any other symptom at the moment, just the throat sore. Just would like to have an insight about it. hence as I said before, I know what I did is a high risk activity. Thank you!

The only relevant fact is you had penetrating anal without a condom so you have a risk that you can test for after the window period for a conclusive result.    
Symptoms are not used for HIV diagnosis since they prove nothing, so doctors do not study them.
