condom broke

Hi Dr. I am 33 years old. Last night I went to a massage parlor. She put a condom on me and then procedded to get on top of me. After a minute or so i came. after pulling out of her i noticed that my condom had broken off the top part left inside her vagina and the bottom part attached to my penis. She said she get tested but I am not going to take her word. I am worried as hell. I have had trouble sleeping and eating and cant perform in the office. What are the chances of my contacting HIV and when should i get tested. Would apprecite feedback. Thank you very much.

very worried and sleepless.

you can test at 6-8 weeks post exposure for a good indication of your status...but follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.

ALWAYS use water based lube to lessen the chance of failure caused by friction.

The first lesson to learn here is that you can never rely on someone elses HIV test result to gauge your own status. As you have had a condom failure during vaginal intercourse an HIV test (along with an STI panel) is warranted.
