6 weeks which test is Best.

Now 43 days finished after possible exposure. Which test is Best for HIV 1 and HIV 2.  some one said if six weeks negative 3 moths will be negative. is that TRUE. And  window period is 3 moths is that TRUE? (week immune system persons window period 6 months?)

Those that have a compromise immune system know in advised they have been hospitalized off an on for awhile. You do not fit in that category.

So 3 months is enough for 100% people for present tests like - Elisa - p24 called duo.

All the latent seroconversion cases occured in the 80's and 90's,we are not seeing this anymore because of better more sensitive testing.

It may take over 3 to obtain a conclusive test. It's rare.

SO drug users,week immune and chemo patients no need to wait for 6 or 5 or 4 months for TEST?

It may take  longer than 3 months but never 6 months for a compromised immune system. .

An Antibody test is fine at 6 weeks for HIV 1 & 2 and will be 99% accurate. 3 Months is the official guideline for a conclusive test and 6 Months is outdated.
