Sounds like protected sex to me - no risk
But, If your really worried and not sure ask the women to go have a rapid test if POS seek pep within 72 hours.
But as for now PEP is not required from your risk
Thank you for the responses. I got in contact with the woman and inquired about having intercourse before I put on the condom. She said "no, we didn't do anything before the condom." We were drunk, so I hope that she remembers correctly.
It appears that the only way to get started with a PEP regimen is to visit an emergency room (it's Sunday). I don't know if this situation warrants going to that length, however (especially considering the fact that I don't have health insurance). Any thoughts?
As a side note, my encounter with this woman will be the last time that I drink. I've been combating alcoholism over the past several months, and I believe that this is "rock bottom" situation that will finally convince me to put down the bottle once and for all. Worrying like this is hell!
Well we were not there so it is up to you to say if it was protected or not, But I think you would remember removing the condom after you were finished. I will answer your questions as if you had unprotected sex. If it was protected NO RISK
what is the probability that I contracted HIV? From a single exposure LOW, but a risk is a risk.
Should the fact that I covered my penis with the same hand I used to rub her vagina (had vaginal secretions on it) be a cause for concern? NOT AT ALL
I’m currently out of work and don’t have health insurance...should I begin a PEP regimen? PEP is used if you were exposed to a known HIV+ partner. PEP would not be reccommended from what you have described.
If the sex was unprotected a test at 3 months will give you your result
Hope this helps
