If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
I thought I was over my fearFears and phobias. After all the symptoms I finally got the courage to test and at 108 days post exposure I received a negative result from a home access test. I felt good for several months, but now 6 months post expsoure I have began to have weird sensations on my tongueTongue tie and now have what appears to be hairyHairy cell leukemia Hairy cell leukemia - microscopic viewtongueTongue tie (overgrown taste buds covering my tongueTongue tie) more pronounced on the back of my tongueTongue tie. Just in the last few days I have also developed a scratchy throat. My throat is not sore, but just feel a slight itch in my throat, possibly from the hairy tongue?
1) Would it be normal to have hairy tongue show up 6 months post exposure. And if so, would it come on as the only symptom or would there likely be others.
2) Does my 108 day result trump all sypmtoms and should I not worry about it?
3) Does this sound like it could be hairly tongue related to early HIV.
4) Wouls it be common to have a scratchy throat.
Thanks for any help you can give me. I thought I was over this and cannot afford to waste anymore of my life.
You are totally negative, if your test was the home access test that test is FDA approved and it is conclusive. What are you going to do, everytime for the rest of your life when you get sick or have a symptom or something are you gonna get scared and think its from HIV, You need to put it out of your mind.
Can you give me some reasoning for your answers. They do not seem to make sense. No to number 1, but yes to number 3. You say keep testing, how long would you test out to before it is conclusive?
How common is overgrown looking taste buds on the tongue? Does hairy tongue normally cover your entire tongue?
Thanks again
