Antibiotics and HIV Testing

I recently had a 13 week negative HIV EIA (antibody?) test. My question was the following. Since my encounter 13 weeks ago, I took a one time heavy dosage of antibiotics to cure gonorrhea. On top of that for the past 6 weeks, I've been on antibiotics for prostatitis.

So, I've been on antibiotics 7 out of the 13 weeks. Would that affect the reliability of my HIV test? Can I rely on my negative test 100% and move on? I appreciated the advice.

Yes, you can rely on your negative 13 week ELISA test result and move on with your life. Antibiotics do not interfere with your HIV antibody result.

Congratulations you are HIV negative
