Apologies to the Doctor in advance...

Exactly two weeks after my last possible exposure, I developed the well
Known, flu-like, swollen nodes, fever and sore throat medley of symptoms.  I figured that maybe even exact timing wouldn't matter and that onset of symptoms arent as rigid in timing. I didn't plan to dwell on it UNTIL I developed what could've either been an impetigo or herpes break out near
My mouth.  To my horror... I went online and found that impetigo seems to be associated with HIV, though with which stage of the virus, late or early, I haven't been able to figure out based on my "research".  I went to see my Doctor and he swabbed the back of my throat to test for strep which came back "slightly positive".  Having read that impetigo and strep throat are cases by the same bacteria, I was a little relieved.. But only before I ran into somewhere else online that mentioned there being different strands of strep and that "generally... They aren't caused by the same strand" (though you have mentioned on here that strep and impetigo are related and can happen at the same time).
Now, about my actual exposure? 30 secs of performing oral sex on another man without ejaculation.  I understand that the chances of infection are astronomically insignificant and that it would be absurd to say that the numbers will
Finally change in my case.. (or I'll finally be the first).  It's just that these signs an the timing seem to be immaculate... Or is it?  I'm a bit relieved that my doctor found that strep was in my system, though the "slight positive" didn't sound too promising.

*is impetigo something that appears as an early sign of infection? Or something that happens in later stages?
*how likely is it that the impetigo is due to my also having strep throat?
*doctor himself told me that the blisters on my face were due to herpes, not impetigo. But everything I've found online describes impetigo identically to what I have on my face.. No actual tests were taken to figure out the skin condition.  But in any case.. are skin problems on the list of things to watch out for in early symptoms of infection?

Yes it did, it scared me for over a year, I mean how can you have all the symptoms but not be infected!?! Well symptoms mean nothing if you had no risk, the sooner you accept that the the sooner you can move on.

You never had an exposure to HIV and you do not need testing.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child

You didn't have an exposure, I had the exact same symptoms perfectly timed with the ars timeline. Buy oral sex isn't a risk, at all.

Might I mention. Symptoms occurred exactly 2 weeks after exposure and lasted for about a week.

Thanks for the response, Teak.  30 seconds
Of oral sex on another man... No ejaculate but possibly precum.
The heightened emotion behind the 1 in a million "documented transmissions" via oral is what drives me crazy. I've resolved to get tested in another month and at the three month mark.

impetigo has nothing to do with HIV. What was your possible exposure?
