Assessing my risk

Hello, I am a gay male who performed oral sex on another man. I have a tongue ring, which I've had for about 5 months, and had a canker sore on the upper inside of my cheek. My partner did not ejaculate in my mouth during the act. Did I put myself in a significant risk for contracting HIV?

thanks for your help.

thank you both very much for the information. You have really put my mind at ease. So many people have been telling me that because of the oral piercing and sore that I put myself at serious risk, even though semen was not involved.
