BLOOD CONTACT ON SCRATCH.

30 minutes ago a friend cut himself while trimming his toe nails,he touched the nails while it was bleeding and most probably had blood on his hand,2 minutes later he assisted me in fixing up my car mat and in the process there was contact with my hand. Afterwards I discovered that I had a scratch on my hand which I never knew off. QUESTION : (1) If he was HIV positive would I be infected with blood on his hand touching the scratch on my own hand? (2) Would any other virus be able to gain entrance through handshake with the scratch. The second  question has become necessary because of the SCARE of the ebola virus in Nigeria. Thanks, I anticipate your detailed answers.

No comment. This isn't an ebola forum, only HIV.

Thanks, but I have been so scared because they said the EBOLA virus can be transmitted through sweat, so I was wondering if someone's sweat got in contact with the scratch that I was exposed.

Nobody ever caught HIV from this sort of event. The answer to both your questions is no. HIV transmission requires much more intimate exposure than ebola does.
