No, i am dark skinned- american Indian (Cherokee mostly). The is a history of melenoma in my family. I hnave had several removed. My uncle died from melenoma and my cousin was just diagnosed. I see a dermatologist regularly. In fact I was helping my son last night examine his. There are a few things to look for-
Asymetrical - of you cut it in half would they look the same
Borders - are the borders irregular
Color- are the colors different (multiple colors in the same mole)
and Finally
Diameter- How large are the moles.

Other things matter to but that is the ABCD's of melenoma.

PS- Got my test back - NEGATIVE for HIV!!!

I have had hetrosexual unprotected  vaginal sex with 4 different men over the past 8 years. I started getting paranoid after I "self diagnosed" a yeast infection using the web. I know that the odds of me having HIV is low because these were relationships not casual sex. All of the men told me they were fine (of course I know people lie). I feel confident that none of them used needles or had sex with men. I have never had any of the symptoms. Just tremendous paranoia. I did a Home Access, the result won't be ready until Monday. My nervers are tore up. I cant eat and cant sleep worrying. I keep reading blogs and stories. Overwhemingly, I see that others are just as paranoid as I am.
Moles are caused by age and sun exposure. Have a dermatogist check them for melenoma.

I share your concerns Sunshinehelp, i have seen moles cropping up here and there over the past month after possible exposure to hiv. Mole are a part of aging and everything but they just seem to be coming on a little more rapidly than seems normal, your? What was your exposure Sunshinehelp? I've noticed the moles on my face, back, shoulder, foot and arm. Some of the moles that were already present have changed in texture ans some in shape...

Don't start freaking about everything. Brown spots under the skin can be anything. I keep reading these comments and all I can think about is everyone is paranoid. Its the biggest sickness I see. I include myself. Here is how I am going to stay healthy.
1. Have safe sex or abstain. (remember ABC's Abstain, Be Faithful, Condoms)
2. Eat well and exercise regularly
3. Have annual exam
4. Be honest and caring towards others.
5. Most importantly if you believe in a higher spirt like I do, pray.
These things are a recipe for health both mental and physical.
