Diffrent answers

Hey. I appreciate this site and find it very serious. I have on another site that claims to be serious and have experts got responses that differ from the answers here. I have on the question about the risk of getting HIV from oral sex received the following response

"Giving oral sex poses a definite risk of contacting HIV if the guy is infected since pre cum also contains HIV virus. The more of these body fluids you are exposed to, the greater the risk of infection there would be. If you have any open sores, cuts, abrasions or gum disease in your mouth, the virus can get into your bloodstream. The risk is less than if you had vaginal or anal intercourse, but the risk is real, and transmission can occur. There have already been reported cases of HIV infection specifically through giving oral sex."

This i the answer from one of their doctors.

What do you say about this.

I really want your opinion.

Thanks.

Anyone with a MD can put on a bow tie and claim to be an 'expert', and hang a shingle out on the internet. MedHelp's doctors are second to none and they say it isn't a risk.

I think it's just like anything else. You look at what the person's credentials are and what their level of experience has been for how many years and also see whether they are just book smart or have actual real world experience dealing with the disease hands on and simple common sense or not. That is how you decide who to believe. As my brilliant father used to say, Consider the source!

Wondering if you can provide a link?

This forum back by it's Dr's on this site and by science shows it not a risk.

Reported cases are far different then documentated cases and from several studies no risk has been proven. Also saliva has enzymes and proteins that deactivate the virus.
