Why a baseline line test on someone that is not taking nPEP?
Take a baseline test now. The average time to seroconvert and test + is 22 days. You're nowhere near there, but its a step in the right direction!
You used a condom with your husband he wasn't put at risk.
Thank you for your comments. I am only concerned about my risk. Talking to someone about what happened simply is not an option. If he does have HIV did not ejaculate but was inside of me long enough to cause swelling and soreness what are the chances of me contracting it? It has been 25 days waiting until July is going to eat away at me. I was intimate for the first time with my husband on Saturday with a condom. Monday he had a rash on his leg. Wednesday a severe headache slept all day and was still exhausted. Would he be showing symptoms so soon even if I don't believe I have had any other than what h have caused myself with anxiety? Please clarify.
RANTASTIC'S information above about testing til 6 months is INCORRECTR. a test at 8 weeks is a VERY good indication of one's status and is unlikely to change...but in order to receive a conclusive result...test at 3 months post exposure.
try to relax...it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY this guy has hiv...most ppl DONT.
OK that sounds like a horrible story. I feel so sorry for you. I think it is important to explain everything to a doctor or a hospital. You can rely on their confidentiality. They can examine you to try and tell what happened and what the risks were. It is hard to tell otherwise and you don't want to take any chances. Also, a they can refer you to an expert on HIV who will be best able to schedule the tests required (which might include speciality tests like PCR, p24 antigen etc.), taken the risk of your exposure into account. Since it happened April 10, taking PEP is probably out of the question.
I seriously think you should go to the police as well. They can pick him up and will be able to tell from his journals if he has HIV and I guess they can force him to take an HIV test himself. It will be a big relieve to you if he's negative. And in that way you can reduce the risk he does the same thing to someone else.
I also think you should talk to your husband about this, even if it may be hard at this stage. I'm sure he will support you and help you through all of this. Getting drunk is something that happens to most people once in a while and it is no you who is responsible for what happened. Maybe he put something in your drink given you fainting and the amnesia. If necessary you could seek therapy to discuss this before you tell your husband.
Good luck :-)
A test for Hepatitis or HIV may not be accurate until about 6 months after exposure.. but when something like this happens you should go to the hospital right away incase it's something easily transmissible (not to mention curable) like Chlamydia. It wasn't your fault, you should report that man to the police and have him charged. Meanwhile, go get yourself looked at right away, even in case of tearing or bleeding down there. Good luck with everything!
