Blood on door handle

hi all, i went to a hiv test today, its negative (my ocd forces me to go, fleshlight paranoia was my last topic). so, my middle finger got paper cut a few days back, im sure abt this as i felt pain when i washed my hands.

during the pricking procedure, my 4th finger accidentally touched my pinky, spreading some blood onto it. the doctor used a cotton swab to clean my pinky and apply a bandaid to my 4th finger. i left the room after that, using my "stained pinky" hand to open the door, to wait outside.

that left me thinking, this means the door handles actually might have small traces of blood. but the volunteers and doctors there just handle the door handles casually.

so my fears is that, i have a 3 days old paper cut wound on my middle finger, it came into contact with the door handle. i've read from previous post that even if you finger someone with a small cut on ur finger, it needs to be fresh and deep enough to be an entry point. And hiv does not linger in environmental surfaces.

so,  i just need someone to reassure me that what i read is correct, and touching blood stained handles is quite safe. sorry, im a paranoid wreck, im trying to prevent myself from waiting another 3 months and go for another test, im just a student and i cant really keep forking out money.

There's just no way this can happen at all, otherwise the clinic itself would be creating an epidemic. Don't take anymore tests, look after yourself in the bedroom dept, and in 3 months time spend that money on something fabulous instead.

you are correct in that you cannot contract hiv from environmental surfaces.

deep breath...you're fine :)
