So I know this is going to sound stupid but just wanted to make sure. I’m currently in the Persian gulf area for a year and we were downtown by the beach. I used a public restroom which to say it was dirty would be an understatement. Anyway after using the restroom I rinsed off my hands (I say rinsed because the soap dispenser was broken). We are staying about an hour from the area and on the way I took out my contact which was bothering me with the same hand I had used to touch the nosel of the sink (which was still very wet)...at this time my hands were dry.
I guess my concern is that I could have gotten blood or secretions on my hands in a moist environment like the restroom and then put myself at risk by touching my eye. I didnt see any visavle blood and did wipe my hands in my jeans after the rinsing (due to no paper towels). I guess my big fear her is that the area is known for a lot of SE Asian expat working as prostitutes in the area and a lot of people here apparently don’t get tested due to their fear of religious stigma.
Am I correct in the knowledge that even had I touched blood or secretions on the sink nosel, and then about 20-40 minutes later took out my contact, this is a no risk situation due to the virus being exposed to the air?
I appreciate the reassurance and am working with a counselor to get over my heath anxiety, it’s a process and i guess for whatever reason this worried me.
Thank you
