Unprotected sex in Thailand

Hi

In November 2011 I had an exposure to HIV, I had unprotected sex with CSW.

I tested negative at 4,8,10,13 and 16 weeks with Elisa in Bahrain (where i currently live/work - I am a british expat out here). The doctor told me it was a 3rd gen elisa test.

My question is do i need further tests. I have read somewhere that the subtype 'E' in Thailand is less sensitive at being detected by tests and they have a longer windw peroid etc. - is there any truth behind this?

Also, approximately 5 months after exposure, i had migrating muscle pain, initially in lower right adbomen ratiating to my back and upper chest. Been to doctor, had bloods, urine, stools, xray, ct scan, came back normal. This has been going on for four months, is there a chance this could be related.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

And these elisa tests (wherever country taken in) are able to detect ALL subtypes?

Hi

Thanks for your reply, but the only lingering doubt i have is reading about this 'e' type specific to thailand.

Do you know of any cases where tests can turn positive after 16 weeks, i'm still confused as many people even today suggest testing to 6 months

thanks
