C4 count and hiv antibody test????
So this is my situation. I had unprotected sex 3 times with female jan. 05. Been tested 3 times for hiv antibodies, all negative but i didnt test the first time until march 07. I havent had any other sexual encounters and dont do drugs. Since may 07 have had white coated tongue, itchy skin, and genital sores that come and go. But white tongue is still there and itchy skin and its october 07. So im pretty much over the hiv fear i went through this past may but its still in the back of my mind and i worry from time to time. I guess the only way to completly be convinced i dont have hiv/aids is if i take an immune panel test. If my cd4/cd8 count is ok i would 100% move on. I have a couple questions for everyone. Is it possible for an hiv + person to go to aids in less then 3 years without meds? And if so, if there cd4 count was less then 200 would they test hiv antibody negative time after time. And does anyone know aproximatly how much an immune panel test costs without insurance? Another thing that is making me worry more is that i caught a could 2 weeks ago and cold went away after 3 days but cough is still there and when i cough alot makes my head hurt.

wel l all of the stuff I am concerned about has been discussed previously right here and I got Teaks attention, that was pretty much my goal, he seems to be the one with the most education on the subject. Just because Its old its still there. I was trying to elicit a response from young Aztec although also, I knew the chances were slim, hope he is OK. But my situation is pretty much exactly like his.. I was divorced In Early 2010. I was out with a friend in August of 2010 and I said "man I need to get laid", HE then called me an escort, Forgive the lack of good judgment, I was in a sexless marriage for 11 years. I hadn't thought of that so I thought what the hell I didn't even know how that worked. Anyway I really wish I wouldn't have been with that friend that night.(sorry to make a short story long I just want this in print) anyway I've had 8 tests but the first was 13 months after possible exposure(September of 2011). I did have all the night sweats and stuff back Then and my tongue is getting white which my doctor says is nothing, I don't like my doctor at all...whenI first started seeing my girlfriend I wasn't worried about this at all because of all the negative test. but learning more is making me crazy, she had the night sweats and now has sinus issues , now I am so worried that all of those tests were wrong and I have infected her, a mother of 3 fresh out of a divorce... so because all of my antibody test we're after 12 months they were inaccurate? Is that what you're telling me I had one other kind test and it said something like <1.87 and my doctors quote was its not there

y es I looked at the dates before replying but I am just like that dude young Aztec. tested negative 8 times but have the white tongue. Now my girlfriend of 10 month has sinus problems, so did I before taking Candida seriously.
young aztec, it sounds like your white coated tongue may be hairy leukoplakia or leukoplakia. Just out of curiosty, what is your diet like? Here's a recommendation for your white coated tongue. Pour 1 tspn (more, if needed) of cinnamon (Ceylon is very effective) on your tongue to coat it and leave it in mouth for at least 10 mins. This may be difficult, if you can not tolerate spicy foods. After time is up to leave cinnamon in mouth, scrape tongue with a stainless steel spoon or tongue scraper (i don't like plastic) and spit contents in sink. Make sure that you immediately clean sink, or spit contents in paper cup/glass and carefully pour in sink, because it causes staining. because this can cause staining Purchase a quality green-tea (EGCG) supplement (price varies from >$10 to<50) and pour the contents of capsule on tongue, leave it there for at least 10 minutes (if you can stand the bitterness). Scrape tongue with a stainless steel tongue scraper, or spoon. Use a paper cup to spit contents and pour down the sink drain, carefully, because it will stain sink and anything else, like clothing; so, don't wear good clothes while doing this. Another product that helps is raw, fresh ginger. There are other things that may help, like fresh lemons, limes, grapefruit, oregon grape root, licorice (not the candy) and other bitters. Do not use licorice if you have hypertension. One of the most important things to prevent white-coated tongue is to stay away from processed sugar, white flour, processed foods with white flour/sugar; also many cereals may contribute to this condition as well.
i use the tongue cleaner almost every day. and if i dont use it for 2 days the whiteness gets so bad it looks like someone painted a thick layer of white paint on top of my tongue and it has thick white saliva on top. I pass my tooth brush over my tongue about 8 times and the tongue cleaner like 10 times and it takes away about 50% of the whiteness. Its been that way for about 5 months now the only thing that has gotten better is the feeling in my throat that feels like theres mucus stuck in there all the time and that has cleared up about 50% on its own. And that dry cough i've had for over 2 weeks with no cold.
i've seen a dotor about my white tongue and he looked at it from close and said it was normal but trust me it doesnt look normal at all. It looks like someone painted the top of it with a white paint brush and it feels soar when i use the tongue cleaner and brush it a couple times. Once i find a way to get rid of that white coating on the tongue my mind will be at peace.
wow chrisneedshelp your symptoms must be so hard to deal with. And the doctors have no idea whats causing them? that sucks. You guys are very helpfull and supportive with your advice. I am going to get health insurance and get additional testing to find out what it is i suffer from. I dont think its hiv/aids but i would really like to know what it is and hopefully whatever it is i have is treatable so i can move on with my life. i'll keep you guys updated with my situatation.
If you are having a concern for you symptoms then see a doctor to find out what is going on. It has nothing to do with HIV.

That is correct!!! It is near impossible now a days to get it from a blood transfusion. You have also tested negative since then and that only proves it. You are negative. If you continue to have symptoms concerns, see a doctor. There is nothing we can do here. You told us you had an incident, you have tested neg 2 years out, and no incidents since. You are negative.
i dont think this changes anything but i had a blood transfusion after a bad accident where i almost died in 2000 when i was 14 yrs old. I had an artery in my leg torn and bleeding badly internally the option was amputate my leg or try to save my leg but risk my life and thats what my dad chose and i survived and my leg too. Ive heard it is impossible for me to catch hiv from a blood transfusion since they check blood.
Another thing i havent said is that the 3 unprotected sexual encounters i had with that woman in jan. 05 started with me wearing a condom but i was usually so drunk i couldnt keep an erection and the condoms slipped off. I noticed on 2 occasions they slipped off and put on new one but once i noticed it slipped off and kept going until i finished inside. I was a virgin until then and since then havent had sex. Now ive gone through hell since may 07 with symptoms, anxiety, stress, depression and a feeling of my life ending and i feel so regretfull and so lost.
thanx for all your responses teak and chrisneedshelp. Chrisneedshelp what symptoms have you had for 2 years? And how long did you wait after last exposure before you tested? Did you do the antibody test? Teak, im pretty sure i dont have hiv but im afraid that i could have aids. I know that is nearly impossible since i keep testing hiv antibody negative but what if i was a very rare case. But what worries me are the symptoms which i know arent reliable at all when diagnosing someone to be hiv + only testing. But what worries me is they've been there for months now and dont get any better. Another thing that worries me as that at the last hiv anitbody test i took, when i went for the results the guy there told me that the only way someone with hiv would test negative for antibodies is if they where about to die from it and it would be very advanced aids. And last is that i waited over 2 years after possible exposure to get tested when i had the chance to go with a friend who got tested about 6 months after my last exposure and i couldnt go through with it cause i was scared and very dumb. I would tell myself that if i had hiv id rather not know until the end. What a dumb state of mind. I regret that now so much and i try to tell everyone i know to get tested for hiv/stds because its better to know sooner then later that way you can treat it. I have to tell you guys that if im calm right now its thanx to you guys and your responses and advice.

I dont curently have insurance but am going to get it. i have tested negative hiv antibody with orasure after 2 years of last exposure and have tested negative 3 times but have had white tongue and something that feels like mucus in my throat, itchy skin along with small red spots around body since may 07 and now have cough for about 2 weeks so im worried i have something wrong. I had a blood test done this week to check my general health im not sure what it checks for but one thing is liver but not cd4 which i get results on monday. I have in the past 2 years had purple spots like lessions on arms that would appear without hitting my arms and dissapear after 2 weeks. I guess im worried cause some of the symptoms i suffer could be associated with hiv but i keep testing hiv antibody negative.
