Test

Hi, just want to know if i have my mind at ease, i got tested 40 days after the encounter and i got a negative result, the place where they took my blood sample told me that normally, they would have found this infection by that time,

is it true?
and it is 2 day before 6 week, is it okay?
as i'm reading, a 6th week result, it is virtually impossible that it turns positive at 12 week ( i will certainly test at 12 week)
do you suggest me to test back in two days or it won't really change?
I have had symptoms but i know i cant rely on symptom judging hiv

Thanks for helping me

The only time that it may take longer than 3 months are patients on Chemo or antirejection drugs for organ transplants and those that are chronic IV drug abusers.

3 months post-exposure is the OFFICIAL,CONCLUSIVE ,Hiv window period for ALL exposures, low or high risk, and has been since 2004.There is no such thing as a conclusive result any earlier than this time frame. Also, there is no such thing as needing to test out to 6 months either in 2011.Its outdated.

Just what I said. After infection it takes the body time to produce antigens and antibodies to be detected by the HIV tests.

if someone has had symptoms ARS, and take a test 7-10 days after, does the test be positive by that time?

Then there is not anything more to discussion on the issue of testing.

I know this, but why everyone saying that 6th week, it is unlikely to change, and i was reading doctor HHH response, he says that he never seen someone changes from 6th week, but i know to make sure, i'll have to get tested at 12/13 week

If you had an exposure your 3 months post exposure test will be conclusive.

something, i don't understant, about having low risk or high risk, why people says for low risk it is ok to test at 6 week, you can be releived and the other one with high risk 6th week is nothing, why is that?
