Can you be infected if you give oral to a woman of on her period?

I gave oral sex to a woman and think she may have been on her period but not certain. I noticed a small amount of blood on the bed sheets and I've read that oral sex on a girl whilst on her period is more risky. I have bleeding gums ocasionally and want to know how big of a cut in the mouth poses risk.

You are reading in the wrong places because no one in the 40 year HIV science history got it from oral - HIV is inactivated in saliva is the reason. Inactive HIV doesn't infect whether there is blood in your mouth or even if you have a cut in your mouth.
