Cause of a False Negative after 4 years

I recently took an HIV test after a 4 year ago very risky heterosexual exposure and a confirmed but serious bout of infectious mono 2 months later, tested negative for HIV at this time, fear this was my (Acute Infection Period). I took a Home Express Finger Prick test and sent it in. Test was taken in Feb., came back negative. For the last 3-4 weeks or so my lymphnodes seem like their swollen, not obviously swollen, but i can feel them when i look for them in my neck and under my chin, not sore either. I also feel discomfor in my groin just above my penis where my lymphnodes would be, no obvious swelling their either. I had sevear night sweats about 4 months ago for about 7 -10 days, which started the night of a motorcycle crash which caused some serious road rash which became very infected. The night sweats prompted my PARANOIA. 3 days ago, i found 2 bright red pin point spots inside my cheek and totally freaked out, they disappear with in 24 hours almost. Other Symptoms: Phantom pain in chin, feeling warm at night and unable to sleep for more than 3 hours, lower acute abdominal discomfort, one tiny Cherry Anigoma on Trunk. My Fiance of 11 years, with whom i have unprotected sex has, has felt the same feeling of Warmth at night, restless sleep and recently developed what looks like a heat rash on the inside of her thighs.
Pretty afraid to take another test......

I have to tell you I have recently shed many tears over this, lost lots of sleep.

My initial test 2 months after exposure was in Hospital in Dec. 06, what was the testing accuracy then compared to today, also would a 2 month window be somewhat conclusive, even tho, my test was taken during my presumed Acute Inf. Period? Also can one trust the Home Access HIV-1 Test system since it is just a Finger prick blood sample, is a Finger prick sample enough to test for Antibodies.

I have heard of False Negatives in confirmed HIV positive people, what is your take on that?

I am planning on taking another test as soon as i muster up the strength.

Teak, I hope your feeling healthy and doing well! You have been fighting for a LONG time, this gives me strength when i think of confronting my fiance with my suspicions.

You took your test way outside the window period, you are conclusively negative.
