Chances of having hiv

So my last partner found out he had HIV, he told me and I got checked out, we had unprotected sex. I got checked at three months, had 2 rapid blood tests, one before blood was taken and 1 at results. They were both negative. I had an antibody test and a p24 test done, again both negative. I'm just wondering what are the chances of me possibly taking longer to produce the cells that are found by these tests? I am an 18 year old gay male, very healthy, eat right, no health issues, good size and weight.

6 months testing is outdated and not required, your 100% hiv negative because your 3 month test results are conclusive. The official, conclusive hiv window period is 3 months post-exposure and has been since 2004.

My best friend is an id doctor in Sydney and an hiv expert and updates me on the latest news and information.Latent seroconversion only occurs in chemotherapy patients, transplant patients on meds and chronic iv drug users who all have very weak immune systems and antibody production and detection may take longer, you don,t fall into these 3 categories so your fine.

Lol I will, and the one thing that did come into my head after my test, and it scared me to think opabout it, but I thought it was super unlikely, probably never to happen, was what if the HIV was in-between both stages, where there aren't enough for the p24 to detect and not enough in for the antibody to find...also I would like to know if you have education in HIV, seems like you do just wanted to know

Sorry, yes you did have a risk, what i meant to say is that your test results prove that you are 100% hiv negative.Yes,the p24 combi test looks for both p24antigen and antibodies. You have obviously made up your mind to test out to 6 months, expect another negative result then.

A p24combi? Is that the test I had which is both a p24 and an antibody test? And I was at risk, we had unprotected sex, higher risk because it was anal, and because I am gay, but thanks I do appreciate all of this clarification, and I am only going for my bf, he is 100% positive I'm negative, but I want him to be comfortable knowing that is is a real 100%

Hmm....well I didn't know that, I feel tons better knowing this, but I'm still doing the 6 month even though that you say 3 month is good, only for my bf, he is just as scared for me as I am for myself, but he keeps his head high and always tells me I am negative, so the 6 month test is more for him.

Oh, well then he either, just managed not to show up on his test, cheated on me *which I have a suspicion* or lied to me about not being with anyone for a while, which again probably a lie. But you think I'm all good, because I have read some things were they say that seroconversion can take from 2 weeks to months

Thanks for that, also to add, he is the only guy I have had sex with, he said he took more than 3 months to show because his last partner was 4 months before his test before me which he said was negative. I am only concerned because it supposedly took him more than the usual time to show
