Coke

Hi, i have read responses on this forum that say sharing snorting gear is no risk but in the Dr.s forum, they say that there has been on or two documented cases. I am wondering if my husband has ever put himself at risk and should get a test as he did it a bit before we were married. Here is the links to the Docs so i am guessing it is not no risk http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV-Prevention/am-I-at-risk/show/788397. I have been looking this up and i cant see it documented anywhere. Any feedback? Thanks so much.

Would have to ask him, but 1 or 2 reported cases is suspect because you would think with all the coke done in the world you would have more reported cases. And also reported cases s just someone saying how they got HIV after they test positive. Not always reliable.

Whoever answered you is just being conservative and we don't get into debates with other websites. It is not an established risk for HIV infection and it isn't something you should worry about.

Thanks Teak, I am guessing I am reading into this to much. I was on another site and asked the question and the Dr. said the risk is theoretical and testing is warranted!!! Why would testing be warranted for a theoretical risk? Doesnt this mean that it has never happened but could happen. If it was to happen, wouldnt we know by now?

The only possible concern at best would be HCV. It's not an HIV concern. Move along.

There have never been any documented reports of snorting gear ever causing an HIV infection, if you can find it let me know!

Ya, i just see that he ha really changed his responses from No risk to some risk. I was wondering why has a bit of hesitancy saying no risk lately to people.

If you read what Dr.Hook wrote he is very suspicious of the report.

Why have the docs say there has been a few cases documented of this happening. Wouldn't this make it a low risk?
