Concerned about HIV

Dear Doctor,
I have been to Bangkok 4 months back and I have had three sexual intercourses with prostitutes (Russians). I used condoms with all of them. And i did fingering with one. There was no condom breakage. After 1.5 months of the sexual intercourse I had feever and sore throats and for that i went to the doctor and i was cured. After that I am completely fine except sometimes if i drink cold or smoke too much i have dry throat in the morning. Other than that I am completely fine. I am very tensed. I am also scared to have a test. Please advise me.

Thanks everyone for the reply. It was a great relief. I would also like to know if there was any small holes in the condom by accident is that a concern? Because I did not realize of any holes in the condoms.

Once again thank you all for taking your time and replying me.

At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV.

First of all, if you have used a condom then there is no chance of HIV. But I am not sure about the fingering because I have read in some article that fingering is one of the cause of HIV. So for this reason I will ask you to have a HIV test.

You state that you used condoms, and if I understand correctly, they did not fail (by breaking or slipping completely off). At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV from these encounters.

You should never be afraid to take an HIV test. Practically speaking, they cannot hurt you. The only thing they can do is tell you your HIV status, and this will be either positive or negative. Either way, this is important information. If the above encounters are the only concerns you have, then you can be sure you will test negative. Again, these encounters carried NO RISK of HIV infection. Be well.
