Condom broke during anal sex

A few nights ago I was was engaging in anal sex with a transsexual I met at a bar. I was intoxicated and the TS really came onto me hard, offered a ride, and one thing led to another. The transsexual is a male so this counts as male to male sex. I was the one inserting my penis. I was using a condom and a few minutes into it the condom had broke. We immediately stopped and left. I am freaking out over this because the transsexual is promiscuous and I know that male to male anal unprotected anal sex is high risk. This was my first encounter with a male. I've only had two sex partners my whole life prior to this encounter and always used condoms. I am freaking out!!! I've always been so careful and safe and this one time I do something stupid/risky and now I am scared of HIV or STDs. I was thinking I was being safe using a condom. But being inexperienced I guess didn't use enough lube. The person swore up and down they were free of STDs and had been tested neg for HIV a month prior. But I still can't sleep or eat.

I plan on going to see clinic soon for testing. Unfortunately for HIV and most STDs there is a incubation period and won't be able to test this soon after exposure.

Do you think that an infection is likely to occur given the brief encounter? Is my anxiety warranted? What are the odds of an STD or HIV considering my limited sexual encounters and the very short penis to anus time frame(2-3 mins). I know I put myself at risk. I just want to know of my sleepless nights is warranted. I am sustaining from alcohol and sex.

hi franco
your reply is very comforting,
likewise i had a receptive and insertive anal sex with a guy, beeing young and healthy i made the mistake to have unprotected sex (once),during the rapid home test elisa kit and while trying to put back the  cover of the needle that helps collecting the drop of blood my finger got pnched but no blood came out,so how do you assess those three episodes that took place at the same time??At which risk level am i situated??
Thanks a lot for your reply and your time,

Hello Steve
I want to share this link with you, it maybe help you calm down a little, it's about the odds of getting a infection from anal and oral intercourse:

"Each time an uninfected man engages in unprotected receptive anal intercourse with an HIV-positive partner, for example, chances are 1 in 120 that he will become infected with the AIDS virus."
http://www.aegis.com/news/sc/1999/SC990801.html

I was one of those who thought that it was a sure thing to get infected, but as you can see, the odds are in your favor.
Remember to get tested for HIV after the 3 months period, and good look, I'll be praying for you.

The only way that you will know if you contracted anything is by testing. Your chances are greater of contracting an STD than contracting HIV but you should test. Keep using latex condoms and PLENTY of water base lube..
