In extremely rare cases, HIV HCV co infecton may delay production of HIV antibodies but I don't think there is much documented evidence of this. Your test at 21 weeks is nearly double the standard window period, which would most likely have picked this up even if this extraordinarily rare incident had occurred. Modern 4th generation tests look for p24 protein as well as antibodies anyway, which would further rule this out.

Hello,

What kind of test was done? Generally below tests are recommended.

4th gen Instant duo - Should be done after 4 weeks of exposure and results are good/accurate and is done widely across medical centers.

Standard antibody test after 3 months of exposure - Conclusive test results.
