What was your possible exposure?
I'd rather not get into it but I had some mouth wounds and went down on someone. Can you please tell me if that test is reading negative? :(
If anyone could just take a quick look at the pictures and tell me if that's indeed a negative, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you!
You had no risk. We are here for risk assestment, we do not look at pictures and we do not read tests. That is too much of a liability.
Well apparently it is. because of that guy Danny pintauro so there's evidence of it out there. Can you please just take a look for me, it's driving me nuts
And too much of a liability for what? Its just looking at a picture
My wisdom tooth was coming in and there was a broken gum and I have enflamed gums/gingivitis. please.
My answer is not going to change.
Have a lab based test for peace of mind.
I've already tested with a lab based 4th gen test in May and mid July, both negative. Another one and the wait will destroy me. Do I really have to take one?
I also took an oral swab today at a clinic with a test administrator and it was negative, now beyond the 6 month mark. am I okay to move on and not test anymore?
Reread what I have written
Okay but you said to take a lab based test and I don't think I can handle another one of those. but if you're saying it's no risk at this point, I trust that you wouldn't steer me wrong if I had a risk and needed to test further.
I wrote, "Have a lab based test for PEACE OF MIND."
I said over and over no risk, but you could nto accept it so maybe accept another test?
Okay. Maybe more testing will only fuel my anxiety further. Thank you for your response. I just don't know when I can accept my negative status. I've had many tests after 90 days.
You did not have a risk, and therefore you are conclusively negative. There is no other way to put it.
Okay thanks James. And even if I had unprotected receptive anal sex with someone who has the disease, my testing today would rule it out completely?
Dude you're ok any test beyond the 3 month mark is good to go. Think about something else. If you were infected at 13 days post exposure the viral load would be so high to detect at any test without missing it. Youre overreacting
Oh okay cool, are you referring to the 4th gen test with that early detection? I'm sorry, I'm just overly anxious and the Danny pintauro news story really freaked me out. Had the 4th gen and probably about 10 different rapid tests since the 90 day mark. Maybe I need a therapist?
Yes a therapist would be a good idea
The only way you can get HIV through Oral sex is if you have some pretty large cut's within you mouth and take cum inside your mouth even then the chance's of getting infected is rare. He was doing Crystal Meth and probably had some major cut's within his mouth which allowed the virus to enter his blood stream and infect him. The test you did is a 100% Negative you are 100% Negative and will not need to test. It's a wake up call when we do have famous people telling us they got HIV. We also need to look at though how they got it in the first place and if they were doing anything that putting them at a certain risk. Doing Meth or other Drug's during sex will increase your risk of getting HIV since your high and not really paying attention to what's going on and not using protection during sexual contact. Also to prevent your fear from ever coming back I suggest you to talk with your Doctor about going on PRep it's very effective in preventing HIV Infection you will have to take the Pill everyday though.
If your wondering what Prep is it's basically a new Preventive measure that has recently proven 99% effective in Stopping HIV Infection from ever happening. It's a one a day pill that must be take every single day.
Thank you so much for the information and reassurance. I'm trying my best to resist the urge to test again. But for my knowledge for the future, 90 days IS definitive. I've taken about 3 rapid tests at 180 days and beyond.
