PCR-DNA tests are not approved for diagnostic use for HIV.
PCR-RNA tests are not stand alone tests and must be followed up with an antibody test.
You can obtain a conclusive test result 3 months post exposure.
You can read either result,it makes no difference, the only result that counts is one that reads negative at 3 months post-exposure.
They are not standalone tests because the risk of a false positive is high?
Let me talk about my situation. I test PCR after 21 days of an exposure, although you think it's not a real. Now I am afraid to see what the test says. I told to myself that I would read the result test just after the result of the Elisa. Am I beeing irrational doing that?
They are accurate in the early stages of exposure, like the first 3 weeks, however they are not standalone tests or diagnostic tests either and must always be followed up with an antibody test-Elisa,at 3 months post-exposure for a 100% accurate and conclusive result. All the best.
after10-15 days, 100% accuracy
This question is very important and I ask the experienced answer.
