Dear Mike , Teak and Others

Dear all i am very sorry for posting again without getting tested for HIV. I have posted my risk long time back which had one off unprotected exposure with a prostitute 8 years back. Yesterday i went to have a malaria test and they did a Complete Blood Count and the readings are as below:

WBC              9.7               4.6

hi john,

Befor reading my answer you should be clear about one point. The cbc test you done wont conclusively say any thing about hiv. But you may make some interpretation as below.

1.WBC of 9.5 is a normal high end value, NORMALLY hiv + pepple tend to hae  low WBC.So it is encourging.

2.Hemoglobin. Your values are good and close to high end . HIV people tend to be anemic means the numbers can be low , again encourging.

3.good RBC numbers agin encourging.

In you case after 8 years i think you may not have hiv based on the information i got from you. The long 8 year may tend to change those if you have it.

But some people even with hiv tend to give normal counts.

But numbers are encourging you can peacefully go and take a test most probably it will negative.

If you have any more specific issue you are free to ask.

Thank you very much for your kind reply. Actually until last year i never had any thoughts of HIV, When i started reading about HIV to aquire some knowledge about it then i recollected my one of blunder what i did 8 years back (1998) and that was my first time and lasted for a minute or less than a minute. so far healthwise i never had any complications if i am not wrong i got flu only twice in my life that is in 1986 and 2001. Other than those two i never had fever or running nose or body pains etc etc. I guess mentally i am not strong enough thats why i am scared to go and have a test, but again i know that is only final ultimate to come out of my fears.

Thanks again
