Need a little hope :(

I am a female who had unprotected sex during a one night stand. I found out that he uses needles which really concerns me, not to mention he did not use protection with me so I am sure he doesn't with others either. I begged him to get tested and one week after our night together, he tested negative with the Oraquick Advance rapid test.  I was still worried to death, I know these tests aren't as sensitive. I had a sore throat during weeks 2-3 after the possible exposure and night sweats like you would not believe.  I am not sure if these are symptoms or I am just going crazy with stress.  I got tested through requestatest.com at Labcore at 31 days after this possible exposure.  The test was called HIV-1 ABS which to my understanding is a standard HIV test just testing for antibodies.  I tested negative.  After reading alot of the forums, I understand that this testing is most reliable during the 6-8 week period with an antibodies test, however, the doctor also makes it sound like a test at 4 weeks is pretty reassuring.  I know I just have to wait for time to pass to find out for sure but I am a mom and I have become so depressed over this whole thing that I don't want to do anything but sleep because then I don't think about it.  I can't bear another 2-4 weeks of waiting and I guess I am just looking for someone to give me some hope.

First of all calm down and dont stress. Stressing is the worst thing you can do.

Yes you had a risk. And you need to get tested at your 3 month mark. But good chance you did not catch HIV. Also the test he took that came out NEG. is a good sign everything will be okay. Now I know its hard but all you can do is wait for your 3 month mark and get tested. You have too.

And from now on always use condoms.

There are no tests marketed or sold to give a conclusive negative test result earlier than 3 months.

Is there an early detection test that you would recommend for my peace of mind?  I have not been able to find anywhere in my area that offers the DUO test which seems to be the most recommended one for early detection.

3 months post exposure is when you can obtain your conclusive test result.
