Should I be Worried?

Hello I do hope I can get some advice on symptons I have been having and whether or not I should be concerend.

I am a gay man and had un protected oral sex on a couple of occassions first one being 7 weeks ago and the other being 5 weeks ago.

Shortly after I seemed to have a a few spots on my shoulder and one on my stomach
I also had diahorrea for about 1 week and a slight sore throat, are these symptons of HIV???

I went for an HIV test and the result came back as negative, taking into account the last exposure was 5 weeks ago and the one beofre was 7 weeks ago?

Should I be satisfied that this result is final and not re-test?

And also if these were symptons of HIV then would they of been picked up in my test I have had done in the UK?

Please advice a very worried and concerned man

you should be happy because you didn't have a risk to start with. You didnt even need to test. But since you did, your 5 week negative should even make you happier.

I'd say that after your near 0 risk and test at 5 weeks, you should let it go, and be happy with the result. However, if you're a worry wart, get your negative test at 12 weeks and then you will be 100% sure.

Symptoms are never a reliable indicator of new HIV infection, furthermore The chances of receiving HIV from oral sex are about 1 in 20,000. It is a near zero risk. I don't even think there is a single documented case of HIV being contracted from oral sex.

Theoretically, I believe that a few days after the onset of symptoms an antibody test will be positive, as the symptoms are the body fighting the new infection. Your negative test at 5 weeks also makes the odds of you having HIV virtually 0, seen as many people have seroconverted by that time. I wouldn't worry about it, get tested at 12 weeks if you remain concerned, that result will also be negative. Based on the exposure described you probably never even needed testing anyway.
