STill going crazy? Should i get tested?

So, long story short i was in the club a month ago and had to really pee...i quickly used the bathroom but as i was squatting i slipped and my hand went into the toilet....to my horror the toilet hadnt been flushed from the previous person and it looked as though blood were in the toilet.  I quickly washed my hands but noticed i had a hangnail that exposed some of my flesh...Is it possible if the person that used the bathroom before me if they had hiv to have infected me?  I live in DC which has a high rate of hiv so that is what concerns me...in addition 2 weeks later i had mild cold symptoms and it was the summer time....granite i could have created these symptoms from worry but just need to know if i should go get tested?  I am not sexually active right now so this would be the only reason for me to have to go!  Any thoughts?  I really dont want to drive myself crazy to wait another month to go get tested..

Thanks Teak!  I just read on the internet that blood can stay alive in water for a certain period of time so i wasnt sure if the blood in the toilet was only a couple of minutes old if the cell could stay in tact plus i never get sick so when i got a cold i was VERY scared.  maybe i caught something else from toilet...who knows... :-(

1)  Question...b/c this is just my curiousity...if blood leaves the body, lets say menstrual blood and goes in the toilet, will those cells die if they had hiv in them.  I have read on other sites that hiv immediately dies when exposed to air but what if the exposure is a couple secs and then the blood goes into water?  On other sites i have seen contradicting opinions....some say it dies when exposed to air and other says that it needs to be dried first because it (infected cell) lives off moisture.

2)And if u have an open cut and it goes into tap water with infected blood will u have a chance of being exposed?

Thanks so much for ur time!!!
