If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
I wanted to know if 3 months is conclusive if someone has a Hepatitis and hiv coinfection?????
I tested negative at 3 months but I never got better. I went to the er 4 times in the past 3 months. I wanted to know if the window period is the same.
SIR
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY what you say is in discrepancy with what doctor say and that's very scary?
DOES THAT MEAN THRUSH IS ONE OF THE EARLY SYMPTOMS OF INFECTION WITH HIV?
PLEASE REPLY ME?
"Contrary to popular belief, HCV is not sexually transmitted, or only rarely so. We never test for HCV in my STD clinic, unless someone has other risks, such as a history of injection drug use.
In any case, almost no medical condition alters the window period for the HIV test, and HCV certainly doesn't do so; even if you acquired HCV simultaneously with HIV"
If you have a concern of dual infection of HIV/HCV and don't live in the US you can take a Multiplo HIV/HCV test. A rapidRapid shallow breathing test that test for both at ONE time.
Well, if 3 months for hiv is conclusive, would I have to take a dual test? I tested negative at 3 months but doctor is convinced that it can't be anything else but hiv. should i switch doctors?
last night, i thought i was having a heart attack. i'm only 27 yo.
for 2.5 months i've been sick after risky exposure.
is 3 months still conclusive if you are feeling weakened? Or is a negative at 3 months definitive, regardless of the situation? This is the last question I'll ask and then I'll stop being a worried weirdo.
This is my story. It is long but with good reason. I had mix alcohol with sex Feb 2007. I remember performing oral sex. I later found out that the person I performed oral sex on is both HIV positive and Heb B positive. For the past year and a half, I have been experiencing some type of pain or discomfort on a daily basis. It has gotten much better. Then there are times, when I just feel like per ****! Like right now. All kinds of symptoms. You name it, I just about experience it. pins and needle, dry eyes, floaters in my left and a small blur in my left eye, painful pimples, sore in mouth, sitting for long periods of time cause soreness, slight pain in ear. within a month of this horrible experience, I lost 15lbs, but has since gain it back and more. LOL! Since Feb 2007, I must have had like 12 HIV test consisting of both oral and blood test. The latest test was three weeks ago. They all came back negative. I have had all the STD test. They came back negative. I had previously taken the three shots for Hep B so I knew my test would come back positive for the Hep B antibodies. This serves as a protection to the Hep B virus. Herpes 1.
Long story short, I had spent well over $1,000 on various doctors visit. I am convince you do not have HIV from your experience 3 months ago or anything before that period. However, must continue to work with your doctors to diagnosis what the problem is related too. Learn from that experience and always remember, I don't care what your friends and the public tell you, always use protection if you are going to continue engaging in sex. Even if it is oral sex, put a jimmy on it. There are other things out there you can catch besides HIV. I have learned from my experience.

last night, i thought i was having a heart attack. i'm only 27 yo.
for 2.5 months i've been sick after risky exposure.
i had flu symptoms, joint pains, pain in right abdomen and spleen pain.
my hands always hurt.
i need to sleep for hours and hours.
i only feel good for the first few minutes when i wake up and then it starts up again.
i heard that if you are going through seroconversion for this long that you will only have 5 years or less to live.
my tests are coming out negative and i'm concerned because what if antibodies are not showing up because my body is very sick?
Is there any other test i can take for the sake of my future?
maybe i need to be put on meds now.
i hate my life.
