Last night I was at a gay bar, a place I frequent since I am also gay! Anyways, I picked up a barstool to move it around, and underneath there was something sharp...it was probably a loose nail or staple (that keep the seatcover attached...like the underside of a couch or chair).
It was a sharp pain like a finger *****, but it didn't appear to puncture my skin. I didn't notice any blood or redness on my finger.
Since I can be paranoid about HIV risks (perceived and real), does anyone think this poses any HIV transmission risk? Although I didn't see any puncture marks on my finger (or blood), since I felt pain I wonder if the sharp object did, in fact penetrate my skin.
Guess I'm just worried that someone with HIV might have tried to move the barstool before me and might have been cut, resulting in blood being deposited on the sharp object. If I remember correctly, HIV begins to weaken fairly quickly after being exposed to air.
Thanks for any feedback on this!
