General questions

Hi all,

I've been reading people's questions and concerns, as well as, the responses. I am getting more educated, since I was helped here by great people and would like to help people who are going through the similar situation i went through.

My 1st general question is, I have read many responses, and articles, regarding ARS symptoms, but some may contradict. My question is that, ARS symptoms occur (2-4)weeks post-infection, stay for (1-2) weeks and occur together. Do they occur in a order-type??? 1st fever, 2nd mouth sores, 3rd ....4th... 5th... and so on??!!!

My 2bd question is, how lengthy is the period between symptoms? or if they occur, they occur in the (2-4)weeks period and stay for (1-2) weeks!

My 3rd question, does seroconversion has any relation to ARS symptoms? I mean, symptoms only occur if seroconversion has taken place or not?

Thanks a lot for the valuable input from everyone!

You cannot rely on symptoms to diagnose HIV.

yes i am aware its not 100%, I am in the medical field, from the biological/research sector though.
So its true that HIV infection occurs in multiple exposures??!!!

well, from all my readings, seroconversion seems to be with, and mostly after ARS symptoms....

Nothing is 100% with ARS, many people report/experience it in different ways and it's EXTREMELY difficult to nail down exact times because most people who get HIV have had multiple exposures and everyone has different immune systems.

I'm not saying seroconversion never takes place before ARS.  Just generally speaking seroconversion would happen during or after ARS (if ARS happens at all - in many people there are no symptoms or the symptoms are mild and go unnoticed).

Yes swollen nodes stay for weeks (in any infection in fact), and the nodes are the neck and under-arms nodes mostly. So the symptoms come and go together! In the 2-4 weeks period right?

And no symptoms after seroconversion takes place. Oh, it makes sense why they say seroconversion is done by the 4th week in most patients, although I have read its surely done 6-8 weeks.

thanks for the help....

Symptoms come and go all together with the exception of swollen lymph nodes, which may remain for a while .

Seroconversion would generally happen during or very shortly after ARS, not prior to it.
