Gonorrhea, abortion and HIV scare!

Dear Dr. HHH and Dr. Hook,

Please help me. You are very kind, trustful and helpful doctors here because I read your posts for quite long time.

I am 32 years old female. I had a vaginal intercourse on Dec 30. 09. with a man with an unknown HIV status. Our condom broke. After 3 weeks, on 19 Jan, when I went to a clinic I found out that I was infected with gonorrhea from that exposure and also got pregnant. An HIV test result was negative that day. I wanted to have an abortion directly that day but a doctor told me that I must be treated before an abortion. And after 7 days of gonorrhea treatment the abortion was done on 27 Jan.

My main concern was HIV all the time until today and I got tested at 3 weeks (Anti-hiv rapid test in 5 minutes), 5 weeks (Anti-hiv rapid test in 5 minutes) and 6 weeks (Antibody test, got my result after 1 day). All were negative. But I am still very worried and scared and deppressed. I can not live my normal life. Do an abortion and gonorrhea treatment delay HIV seroconversion? My menstruation stopped since the abortion. It is already 44 days (my period is 28 days) since the abortion but no period. I am going to test at 12 weeks on 24 March. I am scared to death and really really depressed. How likely is my 6 week negative result to be changed at 12 weeks? Please give me answers. Scared and depressed!!! Thank you very much in advance!

12 weeks test. NEGATIVE. Thanks God. And Thank you Teak and Lizzie.
My new life has began!
From my experience, I would like to tell all of you that condom is not a protection. It can break or slip not depending on you, even when you used it correctly. I will never ever trust it again! Only monogamious relation or abstinence. Please please please keep in mind that only monogamious relation or abstinence will protect you.

I also understand that my status does not mean that he was negative. THANK YOU GOD!

I mean, does making pregnant mean that sufficient amount of hiv entered my body or blood stream?

I have one question for you Teak. If he was positive, is it 100% that i am infected, since he could made me pregnant?
Is there any relation between making pregnant and HIV transmission?

your 6 week test is a good "indication" of your status.  not much else we can tell you other than test at 3 months.

Yes, you are absolutely right Teak. That's why I can not be relaxed untill 3 months is over. But what result more likely do you expect from my situation? I sleep everynight with a nightmare :(

Thanks LIZZIE. I still see these spots for 9 days. I wonder as I never had this before. Can it be because of my menstruation delay? Or because of Amoxicillin? I had Amoxicillin for my cold at 62th day (runny nose, wet cough, fever for 4 days). I read that these respiratory things do not relate to HIV and these are now disappeared, continued only for 4 days, but only those 6-7 red small spots are still remained there untill now.

NO...and 6-7 small red spots on your legs is NOT a hiv rash.

Is it possible to have HIV rash after 9 weeks from exposure? On 63 th day, there were 6-7 small red spots on my both two legs, near my two knees.

Thank you very much for your understandable answers in detail. I am completely safe since then. I will let you know my result after 12 days.

Your 3 month post exposure test will be conclusive.

Someone else's results will not tell you anything about your status.

Thanks so much for your reply. The statement "Abortion or gonorrhea treatment do not delay seroconversion" has given me a little ease. But still can not relax until 12 weeks with negative result. Probably this stress is delaying my period so long. What is your thoughts on this? I would be little on ease if my period has come.

All these days i am going through is just like a nightmare which i can not wake up. Sometimes i am crying from scare. Is there someone you know who was turned out to be positive after 6 week negative result?
