HIV Risk?!?! HELP!!!

About four months ago, I had maybe half a minute of unprotected heterosexual sex with a male.  He did not ejaculate in me, but I know that precum may have the HIV virus in it.  He has not had any STD/HIV testing done in the past, and he tells me that he had never had unprotected sex before that incident.  About three weeks later I lost my voice, but I didn't really have any other flu symptoms like a sore throat or fever.  I realize that many people don't get any symptoms after infection... but now I'm just paranoid.

What are the chances? And if I got tested now, how likely is it to come back with accurate results?

THANKS!! I really appreciate your answers and help!

We did not have unprotected anal sex.  It was unprotected vaginal sex...

I will get tested though.  Thanks!

next time...you might want to look for that red flag BEFORE having unprotected sex.

test to know your status.

Unprotected anal sex is a high risk activity. You put yourself at risk. You can test at anytime and obtain a conclusive test result.

thank you for much for your objective opinion!  i feel a lot better, though i'm still going to go get a std and hiv test within the next couple of weeks.  is it necessary to go back in two months (6 month mark) to make sure i wouldn't be one of those rare cases where no detectable level of antibodies are present at 4 months?

are there any red flags i should look for that should give me a reason to be alarmed? symptoms? signs?

Yes, statistically chances are that you will be fine. Even unprotected anal sex with men that are HIV + does not necessarily give you HIV. It all depends on the viral load in the semen, or in this case, the pre-***. I do not remeber the exact numbers, but say your partner was HIV +, you would still only be running a 3- 5 % risk of getting infected from one gay anal intercourse...

But then again, you don't even know if something was wrong with him. Chances are you will be fine...

If your partner was infected, your risk would be less than 1/1000. Since you don't even know he was infected, your risk is even lower than that. If your partner did not have any risk factors, your risk is very low, close to zero.

Testing now will give you conclusive result. But you really only need to test for anxiety purposes. Rather than testing after individual episodes, have an annual STD screen that includes HIV if you continue to be sexually active. You are much more likely to pick up the one of the common STDs than HIV.

and just to add, after that lost voice incident, I have had no other symptoms.  My voice came back in a couple of days though my voice was still a little hoarse for a week.
