Hey teak , i asked u couple of weeks ago about CMIA and if it covers both types of hiv or not and u said yes it is ? I think that in the states but when i called the lab here in egypt they confirmed to me that the CMIA looks only for hiv 1 and there's another test specific for hiv 2 .

So as long as all my tests were for hiv and the last test i did for hiv 2 was in the states after 6 weeks of my exposure do u think i need to test for hiv2 here now ?

i read your post...you stated that you tested negative for stds except for hsv1 and then asked nursegirl, "why you think that nursegirl?"

Because for one, most people aren't exposed to people from the region where it is prevalent.  Even in locations where it exists, it's rare.  And two, the modern HIV tests would detect it anyway.

this forum is hiv specific and you do NOT have a hiv concern.

questions regarding other stds should be addressed in the appropriate forum

You don't have to worry about HIV2 anyway.

Put this behind you.
