am i hiv infected

Hi
I had a 30 second unprotected sex with a sex worker in Thailand on June 11. Immediately after (one hour) ,i developed rashes on my skin which were diagnosed as scabies. As expected, they went off in 3 days.
5 days later ,i noticed that my tongue was white and also had diarrhea. My friend advised me to take PEP (i know it was way too late for the same ).a week later i went to a doctor and he said it was oral candidiasis ,and also asked me to stop PEP (as i had started after 120 hours). He prescribed me 'Candid mouth paint' to apply in the mouth and a medicine for diarrhea. He also asked me to go for hiv P24 antigen test(at 12th day),hepatitus B,C tests which all came out to be negative (which was a great relief). Now, after 3 weeks i still am suffering from diarrhea and oral candidiasis.
Moreover, yesterday ,i noticed that my right armpit was a little bigger than my left one (I am not sure if it is a case of swollen lymph nodes).I am really worried.
I will appreciate if you can answer:
1. Are these the symptoms oh  HIV?
2. Isnt a 12 day P24 antigen test a realiable indicator of HIV?
3. can oral candidiasis occur as early as day 5 after possible exposure to hiv?
4. does diarrohea (for so long) indicate hiv?

Hey there. 30 seconds of unprotected sex is not a large risk, but the risk is still there and it is smart you are choosing to be tested. The odds are strongly in your favor that you did not contract HIV, especially with a negative P24 test at 12 days. This is a very strong indicator that you were not infected. Keep in mind, the chance you got HIV from this exposure is less than 1 in 2,000. And that's IF the woman had HIV. If you factor in the chances that she had HIV, your chances become extremely smaller. You can get a DUO test at 28 days (1 month) after the exposure, and the doctors on the expert forum both agree this is "proof positive" you were not infected if the result is negative. However, on this forum, the 3 month window period is used in standards with the CDC guidelines. The odds are strongly in your favor you were not infected! Good luck with testing, and get your conclusive result at 3 months.

You gave up your right to a choice when you elected to have unprotected sex.

So,under these circumstances, when should i get tested?(duo test). I cant wait for 3 months as the anxiety is killing me.i am unable to concentrate on my work.
I still have a white tongue (which started on day 5) and diarrhea.I am taking medicines but of no use.

Yes it would affect a DUO test or any other test.

one more piece of advice :tomorrow is day 30 after the exposure.Should i go for DUO test tomorrow, going by the following circumstances?
1. I had 26 day elisa test (which came out to be negative).can it be positive after 4 days?
2. As, posted already, I took PEP from day 5 to day 12.Would it affect my DUO test results?

Also, my 12 day p-24 antingen test was negative.
Thanks and regards,

Hi,i think there's some more trouble.
I recently spotted 2 bumps on my back (i am not sure if they're related to HIV) on day 25.
and on the next day,2 bumps on my arm ,near the armpit. The same day,i went for elisa/antibody test, which came out to be negative.
I had read on the web that you usually test positive after the rash.Should that relieve my tension or are these the signs of hiv rash?i am being restless.please help.

That information was incorrect. It's would be 3 months after the last dose on nPEP.

Symtoms of HIV do not show strate away. You should get tested after 3 months for HIV, which is after the window period, so that the HIV test will detect HIV antibodies. Here is a link you can paste into your status bar, if you want to read about the stages of HIV.
http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5179291_long-hiv-turn-aids_.html
When you first get exposed to HIV, your body attempts to fight off the virus itself, so you may get flu like symtoms or swollen glands. But this does not always indicate that you have the virus, so many people dont even know they have it until they get ill, and some can be symtom free for years.
You should always use protection with anyone you have sex with unless you know them well and trust them, and if you are having oral sex, you should always use a condom, or dental dam if you are giving oral to a woman.
Candidiasis and diarrohea are usually later symtoms of hiv as your immunity is destroyed, and so the only way to know is to get an HIV test after 3 months.
We all know that using a condom is not 100% reliable because they can somtimes split easily, and if this was to happen with someone that you know or does tell you they have HIV, then you can take PEP as an attempt to stop yourself being infected. Im not sure what the time limit is for PEP is so it would be affective.

1. No. Syomtons started to present too early for accute HIV infection.
2. No. Only a three month test post expsure can be considered to be reliable.*
3. No.
4. No.

*In your case I would consider the three month window period to be from when you took your last dose of PEP.
