HIV antibody test after 5 months is conclusive?

Dear Community:
Five month ago I had an unprotected oral sex and protected vagina sex (use condom) with two different sexual workers. Recently I did the antibody test twice, one is rapid test (oral) on the week 19 after the exposure and the result is negative, then I did another one (blood) on the week 20 after the exposure and the result is also negative. In this case can I conclude that I don't have HIV infect? I always have the boils on my body about 2-3 months and this really make me so worried, so I want to know if the two HIV antibody test I made will tell the truth? Why those boils always appear on my body while I don't have other symptoms. Thank you and please share your knowledge with me. After the test I still cannot calm and I have been suffering this for totally 5 months more! Please help!

Best
Patrick

The HIV tests are pretty much foolproof. They are always accurate.

Believe it, stop worrying, and move on. See a doctor about your skin.

I won't have any more comments or advice.

Hi Howard, sorry I just way too nervous as I am so freak out in the past five months, also I am worried about the accuracy for the antibody tests that I made (one in local clinic through CDC and the other one is the online STD testing service provide).

You're re-asking the same questions with different words. The answers are the same as above.

You do not need any more HIV tests.

Hi Howard, thank you so much for your quick reply, so you think the boils has nothing to do with the HIV infection right? Even I made the test after 3 months exposure (on the 5 months) I still anxiety and worry, so you think I need to do another antibody test? Thank you!

Yes, HIV testing at 5 months always is conclusive. Depending on the specific test (or combination of tests), the results are always conclusve by 1-3 months after the last exposure.

As for why you have boils, I have no idea. But your test results prove HIV isn't the reason. And boils and similar skin infections aren't an indication of HIV anyway. Work with your doctor on it -- and if the problem is severe and/or he or she can't figure it out, ask for referral to an infectious diseases specialist.
